Before Time (The Time Trilogy: Book One) by Xunaira J. is a story set in Pakistan which shares the online friendship between Onaiza and Asher (aka Impassioned).
In the story I watch a friendship grow (largely through text messages) to the point that, on a site built around anonymity, the two begin to trust each other. They look forward to the time when they can chat again and even go on to share their real identities and photos with each other.
Before Time isn't a thriller, nor is it filled with suspense. Even so, I continued turning the pages, wanting to see what might arise next in their conversation.
As I read the story, I kept thinking of Asher being a wise soul for his age. Sometimes the comments he made seemed off the wall, until I thought about them for a few minutes.
As I continued reading, I was saddened by some of the revelations Asher shared about his life, the heartache he had lived through, how tragedy stole his passion for living.
Before Time is definitely a story you want to take your time reading so you can fully absorb the conversations taking place between the characters. If you are anything like me, you'll want to see what happens in the second book, which should be released later this year.
